What I Ate Out of Tupperware Wednesday.

What, doesn’t quite have the same ring to it?

Ah, well. That’s ok – we’ll just love our veggies instead.

Yesterday was one of those ‘leave the house at 7 am, get home at 9 pm’ sort of days. I was at school all day yesterday, most of which was marking. 7 STRAIGHT HOURS. Theory exams. My brain is pretty much dead today.

I also have so much more sympathy for professors and teachers now. That shit is not fun.

Buuut what did I eat throughout the day?

Greek yogurt with protein powder, a sliced banana, and a squeeze packet of Dark Chocolate Dreams.

Greek yogurt And I wonder why my keyboard is so dirty. Eaten on the bus to school at 8 am.

Spinach, a mix of butternut and kabocha, dressing, and two hard boiled eggs.

Salad Basically, my favourite lunch at home, except with hard boiled eggs instead of fried to make for a slightly more portable option.

And then snacking my way through the afternoon and dinner began:

Baby carrots Baby carrots and hummus…

One of Amanda’s double chocolate muffins….

(picture a cheese stick – I forgot to get a picture of it).

And half of a somewhat smashed avocado, eaten on the bus for dinner on the ride home.

Avocado Wow, that looks hideous. And I probably got some strange looks eating an avocado with a spoon on a Greyhound. Oh well.

After the day I had, I definitely needed some chocolate when I got home.

Mug Cake Amanda’s Double Chocolate Mug Cake (jeeze, you’d think I was friends with the girl or something. Two of her recipes in one day). Extra chocolate chips (chunks), because double chocolate wasn’t quite going to cut it. Also, chocolate chunks > chocolate chips. And even more addictive.

I’m usually more of a square-meal person, but sometimes it’s fun to just snack through the day.

Have a good one!

<— Do you a preferences of chocolate chip? Semisweet vs. milk chocolate, butterscotch, peanut butter chips, chunks, minis? Semisweet chocolate chunks or peanut butter chips.

<— Do you ever just eat a bunch of snacks in succession instead of a meal? It’s the first time I’ve done it with dinner in a long time.

<— Go-to ‘tupperware’ meals? Salads, yogurt bowls, granola/protein bars.

  1. Tupperware meal of choice- refer to my breakfast in today’s post. Yep, tupperwared.

Also, we’re packet nut butter twins. So convenient. So limited. Damn portioned packs. I love dark chocolate chips in really sweet cookies or sweet chocolate chips in banana bread or such!

People were totes jel of that avocado. well, i was.

  5. Looks like everyone is loving avocados lately-myself included! I wonder if I would like yogurt more if I added choc pb to it? I really don’t like the taste of yogurt otherwise….*tear* I want to though!

  6. Haha, I love how enthusiastic we get over Amanda’s recipes. I basically do whatever she says. I made a double batch of her protein granola bars to take with me for my upcoming move. Omg I leave next week! I think I have IBS from the excitement.

I love all chocolate chips equally – I don’t discriminate. Yep, I totally eat a bunch of random stuff when I’m in a hurry… or lazy. Ha!

  7. So I think you already know my answer to the snacking the day away question There are days where, I kid you not, I probably eat something like 15 mini mini meals… and then other days where I’ll eat 4 bigger ones… sometimes 6… it all depends

And chocolate… okay this is serious stuff. I’m a semi sweet CHIP girl, but I won’t turn my nose up at butterscotch chips either. Omg I went through a phase where I was literally downing that stuff like water. So.good.

    • butterscotch chips are one of those things that I always forget about for months or years at a time…then I’ll randomly buy them for something and wonder why I waited so long. Good stuff.
  8. I just tried that Dark Chocolate PB a few weeks ago and I’m addicted. Soooo delish!

  9. All I can say is, thank goodness for Tupperware! It’s perfect for those days when you’re on the go!

On the weekends, I tend to eat more snack time items than 3 main meals. I’ll eat a bunch of snacks during the day, then eat dinner.

I love semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips!

  12. One of my friends is a TA for freshman general chemistry here…after they take their exams, apparently all of the chem TAs lock themselves in a room together from 12pm-12am for two consecutive days in a row to get all the grading done. That personally sounds pretty terrible to me, but they’re getting paid big bucks for it so I guess that’s all that matters…? And since when do professors do their own grading?

I have to say, I think I prefer snacking through the day rather than having actual meals. But that can get out of hand really quickly so I try not to do it…

    • jesus, that is intense! I like to try and spread mine out over a week or so. And I usually end up splitting grading with the prof I’m working for! (I guess that’s what happens at a small school when there’s only a handful of TA’s to go around ;-))
  13. Peanut butter chips all the way! (I don’t like chocolate allll that much…don’t shoot me)
Snacking through the day can totally be fun. Once I had a crapton of brussels sprouts with hummus for dinner. And then I went out for dessert with my friends where I had an apple turnover. And then I came back home late at night and had a piece of fish. Weird.
Best tupperware meals: salads, rice/quinoa bowls, Greek yogurt, and sandwiches (except I usually wrap those…)

  14. Tupperware saves me on a lot of days that I have to be out of the house for a long period! I bring my lunch to work daily with plenty of snacks. I normally feel like my coworkers are noticing that I eat all day long But whatever- I am full and fueled afterwards!

  15. Yes, I’m a weekend snacker! I eat a real breakfast & dinner, but instead of lunch I eat a bunch of little snack throughout the day – hummus & veggies, roasted brussel sprouts or peanut butter & apple. Oh yeah, my favorite chocolate is white chocolate!
  16. what protein powder do you like, Sam? And what is your current salad dressing of choice?
    • I like North Coast Naturals and Optimum Nutrition for protein powders – I’m partial to chocolate. And as for salad dressing, I like Renee’s yogurt-based dressings.
  17. So basically all of my meals must do well in Tupperware since I eat 2/3 of them out of the stuff! I like semi-sweet chocolate chips as well. And I get way to hungry to snack as opposed to eating a large meal at least once in the day. Snacking always leaves my appetite cut, but I end up feeling sick because I haven’t taken in enough protein/calories/whatever. Glad you got through your crazy day!!

    • haha I’m not going to lie, I’m glad I only have to do it once in a while right now – I’m terrible at packing food for the day!
  18. I love the enjoy life chocolate chunks. I actually spent a considerable amount of time debating at the grocery store if I should get them. Decided not to because I would easily house the entire bag.

  19. I’ve been packing bfast and lunch for Almost a year now with starting the 9-5 life.. It is a Lot better when you have a fridge/office kitchen at your disposal, then lugging it all in your bag to school! I used to hate that, but now it’s no sweat. Hard boiled eggs, soup, toast and Wraps are the best for me! Containers of fruit and snacks like crackers and cereal are great too.. Try packing up a yummy wrap filled with goodies for your bus dinner I’ve def never had half an avocado on the go!! I’m allergic to dairy so dark choc/semi sweet chips it is for me.. I’m sure I don’t know what I’m missing with PB chips though! Love a good PB/choc chip cookie.
  20. Amanda always has amazing recipes. ^-^
I love mixing in protein powder with greek yogurt. I have been loving mixing peanut butter with greek yogurt more. It gives such a fluffy texture and flavor.

Chocolate is a great fix for everything.
